Pharmacy Law

Pharmacists and other health care professionals face a wide variety of laws and regulations that govern their practice. I am Susan Rossi Cook, attorney and mediator, and I help pharmacists and other pharmacy professionals meet the legal challenges of practicing and doing business in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Prior to becoming a lawyer, I worked as a pharmacist. I also taught pharmacy law and ethics for 10 years as an adjunct professor at the University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy.

I maintain my license and bring an in-depth understanding of the field to legal matters facing pharmacists. I served as adjunct professor of pharmacy law at the University of Rhode Island for 10 years.

I use my background and experience to represent pharmacies in cases involving:

  • Administrative matters involving boards of pharmacy
  • Allegations of professional negligence and pharmacist malpractice
  • Cases involving compounding and manufacturing
  • Professional license defense
  • Regulatory and compliance issues

Other attorneys will take these cases on, but few of them have firsthand experience in the pharmaceutical industry, or the knowledge of how these matters can affect a pharmacist and his or her career. I bring a unique understanding and empathy to legal matters facing pharmacists, helping them protect their careers while pursuing fair resolutions.
